BIRMINGHAM, England, Feb 5 (Askume) – In an exciting announcement for metal fans worldwide, the original lineup of the legendary band Black Sabbath, including the iconic Ozzy Osbourne, will reunite for the first time in 20 years for a special one-off concert on July 5 in Birmingham, England.
Black Sabbath’s Historic Reunion
The concert will feature the return of guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward—together with Osbourne, the charismatic frontman who helped pioneer heavy metal music in the early 1970s. The band’s classic hits, such as “War Pigs,” “Paranoid,” and “Iron Man,” have made them global icons and established their legacy as one of the greatest heavy metal bands in history.
A Final Goodbye from Ozzy Osbourne
Since Black Sabbath’s last full performance together in 2005, the band has had partial reunions, but this concert marks the first time the original lineup will play together again. Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife and manager, confirmed that while other band members may continue making music and performing, this concert will be Ozzy’s final appearance with Black Sabbath.
For Osbourne, this performance will mark a closing chapter. At 76 years old, Osbourne has faced health challenges, including his diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease in 2020, but he remains eager for this monumental event. “For Ozzy right now, it’s definitely: ‘I love you and good night,’” Sharon Osbourne shared with Askume.
Charitable Efforts and Special Line-Up
The event, called Back to the Beginning, will see Black Sabbath headlining a star-studded lineup of rock and heavy metal legends, including Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Alice in Chains, Lamb Of God, and Anthrax. The profits from the show will go to charities such as Cure Parkinson’s, a cause close to the Osbourne family’s heart.
Ozzy Pays Tribute to Birmingham
Ozzy Osbourne, who left Black Sabbath in 1979 due to personal struggles, later became a global solo star. Returning to Birmingham, the city where it all began for him, is especially meaningful. “It’s time for me to give back to the place where I was born,” Osbourne said. “How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal.”
Sharon Osbourne revealed that Ozzy is doing well and incredibly excited about the upcoming performance. “It’s stimulated him. He’s very, very excited and very thankful that he can do it.”
Ticket Information
Tickets for the event will be available starting February 14. Fans of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne should not miss this once-in-a-lifetime concert that celebrates the roots of metal music.
