Nilavuku Enmel Ennadi Kobam (2025) is the latest project from Vijayalakshmi Kasthuri Raja, and honestly, it’s got people buzzing, mostly because it’s not your typical love story. The plot kicks off in a sleepy Tamil Nadu town where tempers run hotter than the summer sun. The main characters, Anbu and Revathi, are basically two sides of the same coin—both stubborn, both with way too much pride, and both totally convinced the universe revolves around them. They start out as childhood frenemies, always at each other’s throats over, well, everything—who’s faster, who’s smarter, who can eat more dosa in under five minutes. Fast-forward a few years and, surprise, their old rivalry is still alive and kicking, just with extra layers of adult awkwardness and unresolved feelings nobody wants to talk about. There’s a bunch of chaos at home, thanks to nosy aunties, gossipy uncles, and a village that treats every argument like a reality TV episode. Anbu’s mom is all about peace and snacks, while Revathi’s grandma keeps dropping savage one-liners nobody sees coming. Things come to a head during the annual festival when a harmless bet spirals out of control, dragging the whole town into the madness. Somewhere between shouting matches, stolen glances, and a cricket match gone sideways, Anbu and Revathi start realizing maybe all that “kobam” (anger) is just a cover for something else. But with family drama and village politics cranking up the pressure, will they ever admit it? Or are they doomed to just keep yelling at each other forever?
