Brandon Menchen
Born and bred in LA, Brandon Menchen basically grew up breathing movie set air. Seriously, the guy was hauling cables and wrangling lights on film sets when most of us were still learning to drive—he kicked off as a grip and electrician at just sixteen. But he wasn’t just about the grind behind the scenes; he was out shooting everything he could, from slick ad campaigns to headshots for actors chasing their next gig. The man’s camera has probably seen more faces than most Hollywood casting directors.
As Brandon’s photography game got stronger, he started rubbing shoulders with some of the big names in the business, jumping in as an assistant and then taking on producer gigs. That hustle sent him globe-trotting, working shoots everywhere from swanky city rooftops to random corners of the world most of us only see on Instagram. Somewhere along the line, he earned a bit of a rep as the guy who can fix just about anything on set, no matter where you drop him.
Fast forward a bit—Brandon circled back to his first love: film. He’s deep in the trenches now, producing features, TV, and commercials for the past decade. These days, he’s the head of development at BrandTone Films, working with a killer lineup of writers, directors, and producers. Honestly, you can’t really talk about the backbone of a production without mentioning someone like Brandon. He’s the guy who makes the impossible seem, well, not so impossible.
