Mayra Faour Auad
Mayra Faour Auad’s film game is wild—she’s not just some behind-the-scenes figure, she’s got her fingerprints all over the industry. She basically built Pagu Pictures from scratch and turned MyMama Entertainment into a 12-year powerhouse that churns out movies, series, music videos—whatever you throw at her, she runs with it. Oh, and she’s got LA cred too; she co-ran Passage Pictures and helped drop Netflix’s “White Noise” (with Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig, no less) right onto the Venice Film Festival’s opening night. Before that? She was repping Ethan Hawke in “Tesla,” which opened Sundance. Not too shabby.
Honestly, her trophy shelf is ridiculous—Cannes, Berlinale, Sundance, SXSW, Venice, you name it. “The Orphan” snagged hardware at Cannes and SXSW. “Fogaréu” lit up Berlin. “Tesla” bagged the Sloan Prize at Sundance. “White Noise” had Venice buzzing. And “Medusa” made waves at Cannes again. Plus, she’s rocked two International Emmys with Fox/Disney for “Hack the City” and “Our Blood, Our Body.” In 2022, she rolled out “Beat Diáspora” with KondZilla and YouTube Originals, and dropped a docuseries on Adriano Imperador for ViacomCBS. Three features released that year—“Odilon, Réu de Si Mesmo” (HBO Max), “Fogaréu,” and “Los de Abajo.” Up next for 2023? She’s teaming up with Andrucha Waddington for “Vitória,” starring Fernanda Montenegro and Linn da Quebrada, in co-pro with Conspiração and Globoplay. Mayra doesn’t just keep up—she sets the pace.
