Mark Gillespie
Mark Gillespie, born in Solihull back in ’81, has pretty much become a heavy hitter in the world of music and entertainment. He’s the brains behind Three Six Zero, where he calls the shots as CEO. Over the past twenty years or so, he’s been the guy quietly steering the careers of some of the biggest names around—think Calvin Harris, Frank Ocean, Kid Cudi. Not exactly small fry.
But it’s not just about artist management for Gillespie. He owns Three Six Zero Recordings, has his fingers in the publishing pie with Three Six Zero Music Publishing, and even has a stake in the UK film scene through True Brit Entertainment. If you’ve caught movies like Vox Lux with Natalie Portman, The Brutalist featuring Adrien Brody, or Marching Powder starring Danny Dyer, yep, that’s Gillespie’s name in the credits as executive producer.
In 2023, he went ahead and picked up SARM Recording Studios in London—a bit of a legendary spot for music history nerds. Outside the music and movie bubble, Gillespie’s got a thing for tech investing. His portfolio? It’s stacked: OpenAI, SpaceX, DoorDash, Figma, Stripe, OpenSea, Gemini, Lyft. He’s even an LP at Andreessen Horowitz, which is kind of a big deal if you follow Silicon Valley stuff.
On top of all that, he sits on the entertainment board for Children In Conflict, putting his energy towards some good causes. Gillespie’s knack for seeing what’s next and shaking up the usual way of doing things has made Three Six Zero a real force across music, film, TV, and even sports.
