Michael D. Cohen

Michael D. Cohen, probably best known as Schwoz—the wild-haired, accent-mystery genius from Nickelodeon’s “Henry Danger” and “Danger Force”—has been a staple in kids’ TV for a while. The dude’s got range, too. He was obsessed with acting since he was a little kid glued to “The Carol Burnett Show,” but somehow ended up with a science degree first (because, you know, why not double down on both mitochondria and monologues). Eventually, he wandered back to Hollywood, chasing the acting dream for real. He’s popped up in some legit films—think “Suburbicon” with the Coen Brothers’ fingerprints on it, and “Whiplash,” which, let’s be honest, everyone talks about for the drum solos but should mention Cohen too. There’s also “It Was You Charlie,” where he snagged an ACTRA nomination, plus “An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn” alongside a cast that’s basically a who’s-who of indie comedy. TV? He’s everywhere. “Modern Family,” “2 Broke Girls,” “The Mindy Project,” “Angie Tribeca,” “Austin & Ally”—the list just keeps going. He’s even that familiar face in a bunch of commercials—Wendy’s, Nespresso, you name it. On top of all that, Cohen’s big into teaching, thanks to his teacher parents. He’s taught at UT Austin’s Hollywood programs, runs his own acting studio in LA, and is working on a book about acting. Oh, and when he’s not on set or teaching, he’s apparently clinging to the side of a mountain somewhere, living that climber life.
