Lynn Colliar
Lynn Colliar’s journey is honestly kind of wild. Born in Scotland but raised in British Columbia, she’s got that blend of accents and attitude you’d expect from someone who’s seen both sides of the pond. She’s not just another face on TV—she’s the anchor holding down the Saturday and Sunday Morning News, plus the Weekend Noon News Hour over at Global BC. Still finds time to report for the News Hour and BC1 because, seriously, does she even sleep?
She’s got a biology degree from Simon Fraser University—so, she’s got the brains to back up her broadcasting chops. And, fun fact, she spent seven years working as a vet assistant, which probably explains why she’s basically the patron saint of animals. But after all that, Lynn switched gears and jumped into journalism at BCIT. Talk about a plot twist.
Crime beat reporting was her thing for eight years, which isn’t exactly a walk in the park. She dug into some pretty intense stuff—her special “A Shred of Evidence” even scored her an Excellence in News Reporting award. The way she broke down the science behind solving major B.C. homicides? Next level.
Lynn didn’t stop there. She co-produced and reported on “kNOw more,” a hard-hitting forum on home invasions targeting the elderly. After a decade anchoring the Morning News, she pivoted again, diving into investigative series covering everything from infertility to transgender stories, always making sure real people’s voices came through loud and clear. Relentless, curious, and just a little bit fierce—classic Lynn.
