Cassandra Sanchez Navarro is basically Mexican showbiz royalty—fifth generation, no less. Probably best known for nailing the lead as Cindy in “Cindy la Regia,” which kind of exploded at the box office back home. Seriously, that film was the #1 hit in Mexico for 2020 and you can catch it on Amazon Prime now. But she’s not just a one-hit wonder; Cassandra’s all over the place—she’s in “El Peligro En Tu Mirada,” “Malcriados,” “Enfermo Amor,” and “Nada Que Ver,” which rolled into Mexican theaters in 2021. She’s got both US and Mexican passports, grew up Stateside, so she’s basically living the best of both worlds (tacos and burgers, come on). Cassandra trained at Lee Strasberg in LA, hit the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York, and even crossed the pond to study at London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Girl’s got credentials. Over the last ten years or so, she’s been hustling non-stop in both Mexico and the US—film, TV, theater, you name it. TV gigs? She’s been on Netflix’s “Sense 8,” Fox’s “Sitiados: Mexico,” and “El Dragon,” which, fun fact, broke into the top 10 shows in over 20 countries. Stage-wise, she’s no slouch either. She’s starred in a bunch of musicals and plays, most recently landing the lead in “Sugar,” which snagged Best Play of the Year in 2020. Acting runs in her blood—her grandfather Manolo Fabregas was the OG Mexican on Broadway, known as “The Man of Theater” back home. Her family? They own seven theaters in Mexico City. She’s bagged awards like “Revelación del Año” and Best Supporting Actress for “El Tiempo Se Detiene.” These days, she splits her time between LA and Mexico.
