Dearbhla Molloy

Dearbhla Molloy, straight outta Ireland, basically grew up bouncing between Irish and English—talk about bilingual goals. She kicked off her stage life in Dublin, diving into Irish-language plays with the Abbey Theatre (the OG spot for Irish drama nerds). From there, she took her talents to the Royal Shakespeare Company, landing the London Critic’s Award for her role in Juno & The Paycock, sharing the stage with none other than Judi Dench—no big deal, right? Broadway came calling soon enough. She snagged a Tony nod for Dancing at Lughnasa, and even had this wild night where she zipped to New York for the awards, then hopped on the freakin’ Concorde back to London just in time to make curtain for What The Butler Saw. That’s commitment. She kept the Broadway streak alive with Touch of the Poet, Outside Mullingar, and The Ferryman—which also earned her an Olivier nomination when it hit London’s Gielgud Theatre. Over in the West End, she’s played Gertrude opposite Ken Branagh’s Hamlet, teamed up with Orlando Bloom for In Celebration, showed up in the National Theatre’s Arcadia, and just recently took on Uncle Vanya at the Harold Pinter Theatre. Sixty years on the go and she’s done it all—stage, TV, movies, across Ireland, the UK, and the States, racking up awards and nominations like it’s just another Tuesday. These days, she calls London home, hanging out near her son Rory, but she still makes sure to pop back to Ireland every chance she gets.
