Phil Lott’s one of those names that pops up everywhere in the world of nonfiction TV and docs—he’s won an Emmy, juggles roles as director, producer, cinematographer, and even co-owns AMPLE Entertainment with Ari Mark (that guy’s got a wild resume too—think Sundance, AMC, even X-Box). Phil’s fingerprints are all over some of the biggest reality and true crime hits in recent memory: Locked Up Abroad, Undercover Boss, Shark Week—yeah, he helped set the vibe for all that. And he doesn’t just stick to one lane. At AMPLE, he’s jumping from a sushi competition show with Morimoto to murder mysteries in the Midwest, to grizzly bear survival battles in Alaska. That’s range. Lately, he and Ari have been on a roll with premium doc series for the heavy hitters—Netflix and HBO. Ever heard of ‘The Invisible Pilot’ with Adam McKay? That’s them. ‘Jailbreak: Love on the Run?’ They handled the big reenactments for that Netflix smash. There’s a Zodiac killer doc coming up, plus some hush-hush new stuff for Netflix dropping in 2025. Phil’s got serious cred behind the camera too.
