Mandira Bedi
Mandira Bedi, born on April 15, 1972, grew up in Bombay in a lively Punjabi family—mom Gita, dad Verinder, the usual suspects. She went to Cathedral & John Connon High School, then did the college thing at St. Xavier’s and wrapped up with a post-grad from Sophia Polytech. Not long after she started working at Oglivy & Mather, destiny totally hijacked her life with a TV offer—she landed a role in Shanti and it basically snowballed from there. Next thing you know, she’s in 'Kyun Ki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' too.
Mandira’s an Aries, which, let’s be real, explains a lot of her “go get ‘em” energy. She’s nuts about cricket, so when Sony TV came calling with 'Extra Innings,' she was over the moon. Suddenly, the world of cricket, which used to be a boring boys’ club, got hit with a Mandira-shaped glam bomb. Her designer sarees (shoutout to Satya Paul for those wild cricket-themed ones) turned her into a household name—guys and girls all over India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, you name it, couldn’t get enough.
She married director Raj Kaushal on Valentine’s Day 1999—talk about dramatic timing. They set up camp in Bandra and she even acted in his film 'Shaadi Ka Ladoo' and was part of 'Dus Kahaniyan'. Mandira’s always looking for variety in her roles, though folks keep saying she’s too sweet-faced for villain parts. She’s anchored everything from 'Fame Gurukool' to World Cup Cricket 2007, and sitcoms like 'Papa Ban Gaya Hero'. In 2011, she became a mom to little Vir, born on Father’s Day, no less. Life’s never boring with her.
