Idrissa Sanogo
Idrissa Sanogo Bamba, or just Mansa Idrissa if you’re in the know, is one of those guys who’s basically lived everywhere. Born in Mali, raised all over—Canada, Italy, Nigeria—you name it, the dude’s probably got a story from there. He wrapped up high school back in Mali in 2017, soaking up all these different cultures and people, which, honestly, kind of leaks into everything he does now. He bounced over to Toronto for university at York but, you know how it goes—sometimes school just isn’t where the heart is. So he ditched the textbooks to go chase down acting and dance, and honestly, it worked out.
He didn’t exactly waste time either. Idrissa went straight into landing roles on some seriously big-deal shows: The Boys on Amazon, Titans on Netflix, The Expanse over on Syfy, and even popped up on Coroner for The CW. Not bad, right? But he’s not just floating around on TV. He’s scored a lead in Steal Away, a feature flick helmed by Clement Virgo, a director who’s stacked up more than a few Canadian Screen Awards. On top of that, he’s got a lead in Robyn Hood, a reimagined Robin Hood series from Director X (aka Julien Lutz), which is kinda wild. And just for good measure, he’s got a solid supporting role in The Fire Inside, with a script by none other than Barry Jenkins—you know, the guy with the Oscar. Basically, Idrissa’s out here making moves, and you can bet he’s just getting started.
