Fahadh Faasil

Fahadh Faasil, son of the legendary Malayalam filmmaker Fazil and Rozina, honestly grew up surrounded by the wild world of cinema. He’s got two sisters, Ahameda and Fatima, and a brother, Farhaan—yeah, that’s a whole lot of F’s, right? Fahadh bounced around a few schools—SDV Central School in Alleppey, Lawrence School in Ooty, and Choice School in Thripunithara. Not done yet, he grabbed a degree from Sanatana Dharma College and then went full-on academic with an M.A. in philosophy from the University of Miami. Philosophy? Didn’t see that coming. He jumped into films at just 19, starring in his dad’s movie, Kaiyethum Doorath, back in 2002. That one flopped, not gonna sugarcoat it. So, he vanished for a solid six years. Outta nowhere, he reappeared in the anthology film Kerala Cafe in 2009, and man, did he pick up steam. Since then, he’s basically been everywhere—Chaappa Kurishu, Diamond Necklace, 22 Female Kottayam, Amen, Artist, Annayum Rasoolum, North 24 Kaatham, Bangalore Days, Iyobinte Pusthakam. The guy’s filmography is stacked. Critics love him too; he picked up Kerala State Film Awards for Best Actor in Artist and North 24 Kaatham, and snagged Second Best Actor for Akam. And his off-screen life? Pretty filmy too. He got engaged to actress Nazriya Nazim in January 2014—yeah, the one he acted with in Bangalore Days as her on-screen hubby. Their parents totally played matchmaker there. They tied the knot in August 2014. Feels like a movie, honestly.
