Seth William Meier
Meier pretty much grew up with a pencil in his hand, drawing and painting like a man possessed. He was bold, too—reaching out to Disney legends Ollie Johnson, Frank Thomas, and Ward Kimball behind his parents’ backs. They actually wrote back, and he kept swapping letters with them for years, getting solid advice from the best in the game. “Take up acting to learn your characters,” they told him. So, he jumped on stage in Boston and, not long after, landed in his first film, School Ties.
He didn’t stop there. Ithaca College, London, New York—Meier chased film, theater, and dance wherever he could find it. He got hands-on in production work and eventually joined the DGA, which set him up for his first big producing job on In My Pocket. Then he ran the West Coast side of Burnside Entertainment with his mentor Glen Trotiner, cranking out stuff like The Briefcase, Bella, Union Square, and King of Herrings—which actually snagged an audience award in New Orleans.
Next up, he dove into Illusion Industries, mixing special effects with indie film hustle. We’re talking TV gigs on Sons of Anarchy, Southland, and film credits all over the map: Smurfs, Transformers, Fright Night 2, G.I. Joe 2, and more. After that, he got back on set, producing Sundance hit Cooties, then worked with Blumhouse and Amblin Partners on everything from Happy Death Day to Carry On with Netflix. Guy’s got credits for days, and he’s still at it.
