Zeltia Montes

Zeltia Montes is basically a powerhouse in the world of film and TV music. She snagged Spain’s top cinema award—the Goya—for Best Original Score on The Good Boss, the one with Javier Bardem, which also got some Oscar buzz. Not her only claim to fame, either. She was up for another Goya for her song in Delicate Balance, a documentary that ended up winning Best Doc that year. Montes has this mad talent for mixing all sorts of sounds, sampling weird stuff and weaving it in with orchestra and electronic layers. Sort of her signature move. Her trophy shelf’s no joke. She’s got nods from the Platino Awards, Feroz Awards, Spanish Cinema Writers Circle, Jerry Goldsmith Awards, IFMCA, Hollywood Music in Media—you name it, they’ve probably clapped for her. She’s been on a roll lately, too. Did the musical Voy a Pasármelo Bien, where she worked alongside the legends of Hombres G and actress Karla Souza. Then there’s The Gypsy Bride, a thriller series directed by Paco Cabezas—she’s worked with him before on Adiós (Mario Casas starred in that one, by the way). Netflix called her up for The Silence of the Marsh, a psychological thriller with Pedro Alonso, and Sad Hill Unearthed, a wild documentary featuring Clint Eastwood and Ennio Morricone. Just wrapped up The Wait with F. Javier Gutiérrez, Que Nadie Duerma by Antonio Mendez Esparza, and Bird Box Barcelona for Netflix, directed by the Pastor brothers. She’s everywhere, and honestly, her music just hits different.
