Priscila Amescua-Mendez

Priscila Amescua, born and raised in the whirlwind that is Mexico City, has been hustling in the film scene for nearly two decades. She’s not just another name on the credits—she’s worked elbow-to-elbow with absolute giants like Iñárritu, Cuarón, and del Toro. Seriously, that’s a flex. She got her BA from Emerson College (theater and film studies, obviously) and picked up her filmmaking chops with Frames Per Second, which is Emerson’s OG film group. Right now, her company Agasajo Films is wrapping up post-production on NOCHE DE BODAS, a feature headed for release by Videocine. Not like she’s slowing down—she’s also the line producer for Roberto Girault’s CONTIGO EN EL FUTURO, which is coming out under the Amazon Studios banner. Earlier in 2023, she was producing the comedy series LIBRE DE REIR for MGM Studios and Amazon Prime Video. Oh, and in 2022? She was the production supervisor for Y CÓMO ES ÉL?, the movie that basically owned the Mexican box office that year. She’s worn just about every hat in the business: director of operations at Gato Grande (MGM), production manager for NBC Telemundo at the Qatar World Cup, junior manager at the Tokyo Olympics, even festivals coordinator for Ithaca Films. Back in the day, she helped those legendary directors (Iñárritu, Cuarón, del Toro) set up Cha Cha Cha, the company behind BIUTIFUL and RUDO Y CURSI. Awards? She’s got ‘em—Berlinale Talent Campus and the British Council’s International Young Creative Entrepreneur. Basically, Priscila’s got receipts for days.
