Emre Oskay
Emre Oskay, born in Istanbul back in ‘85, has been knee-deep in the film world for over 15 years, bouncing between Turkey, the UK, and Europe. He kicked things off with a cinema degree from Eastern Mediterranean University, and now—because apparently the guy never sleeps—he’s a visiting lecturer at EMU’s communication faculty and a Tesiyap member. Fast forward to 2020, and he launches Sky Films, his own production company right in the heart of Istanbul. This isn’t just some side project—Sky Films handles everything from big-budget features to indie gems, with a crew that’s seen it all, both local and international.
Oskay’s résumé is kind of wild. He’s played big roles at a bunch of production companies, juggling titles like Managing Director and Co-Partner Executive. But the real flex? He’s produced, co-produced, or line produced more than 50 films—features, shorts, docs, you name it. Think “Inflame” (which hit Berlinale Panorama and SXSW), “Mustang” (yep, that Mustang, the one with the Cannes nod and an Oscar nomination), “Noah Land” (Tribeca), “Lady Winsley,” “The Guest,” “Not Knowing,” “Flash Drive,” “Paskal,” “Shadows & Faces,” “Innocence of Memories,” “Keys of Heaven,” “Mama,” “Respect II,” “Tell Me About Your Darkness,” “Nezouh,” and “In Good Hands.” The guy’s basically everywhere.
When he’s not wrangling film sets or teaching, he’s at home with his wife and two daughters. So yeah, Emre Oskay—one of those people who just keeps moving, making movies happen, and somehow still finds time for family.
