Rémi Burah
So Remi Burah’s story is pretty wild, honestly. He kicked things off as a banker, working the audiovisual scene in London and Paris—yeah, not your usual finance gig. Then, he jumps into Haut et Court, takes the wheel as partner, managing director, and CEO for their comms agency, and sticks around for eight years. Not bad for a career pivot, right?
But Remi doesn’t just sit still. In 2001, he dives headfirst into ARTE France Cinema, which is basically the film arm of that European TV channel everyone pretends to know about. There, he gets his fingerprints all over a bunch of major film coproductions—think big names like Wim Wenders, Lars Von Trier, Wong Kar-wai, Michael Haneke, and a dozen more directors film geeks drool over. He’s everywhere.
Then, in 2004, he helps set up ARTE Cofinova—a finance company cooked up with the Sofica French tax system. Sounds dry, but it’s actually a clever move for funding films. Fast forward to 2016, and he’s the big boss at ARTE KINO Endowment Fund, launching the first European online film festival. Remi’s always chasing the next thing.
Oh, and animation? He’s got credits as associate producer on stuff like Persepolis and A Monster in Paris. The guy’s specialties? Feature film production, financing, and some transmedia magic thrown in for good measure. Real mover and shaker in the European film scene.
