Aasheesha Srinivasan
Aasheesha Srinivasan didn’t exactly take the conventional route. After wrapping up her MSc in Management at Imperial College London—a place that’s more famous for churning out scientists than cinema buffs—she did a total pivot. Her obsession with movies and the whole wild intersection of business and media pulled her straight into the heart of the Indian film industry. And, honestly, she’s been making waves ever since.
She carved out her own space pretty fast, teaming up with none other than Mani Ratnam at Madras Talkies. Yeah, that Mani Ratnam. Not everyone gets to hop on board such massive projects right off the bat, but she did. She was right there in the thick of things for Ponniyin Selvan Parts 1 and 2—those gigantic, star-studded epics everyone kept talking about. Not just that, she flexed her production muscles on Vaanam Kottattum and a handful of short films too.
But she’s not just a behind-the-scenes wizard. Aasheesha’s got this knack for handling chaos—organizing film and ad shoots, juggling last-minute changes, and still getting everyone to the finish line on time. Plus, she’s the brains behind some pretty slick promotions and publicity campaigns, both for films and brands. Basically, she’s everywhere: making sure the lights don’t fall, the stars are happy, and the buzz never dies down. Not bad for someone who started out with a management degree, huh?
