Keenan Arrison
Keenan Arrison, born February 23rd, 1981 in Cape Town, is kinda one of those people who just can’t sit still. You might’ve first noticed him as the male lead in ‘Shirley Adams’—yep, that Oliver Hermanus film. Not bad for a first big break, right? He’s not just a pretty face either; the guy co-wrote and starred in the Cannes-nominated short ‘Ongeriewe’ with Robin Kleismidt calling the shots. So basically, he’s been hustling from the get-go.
You could say Keenan’s been everywhere. TV, movies, stage—you name it. He’s got a BA (Cum laude, flex much?) in Live Performance and Motion Picture from AFDA Cape Town, and he really blew up thanks to his role as Ashwin on Mnet's ‘The Wild’. People still talk about that. But hey, he didn’t stop there. You’ve probably seen him in Tim Green’s ‘Skeem’, or maybe in Gerrit Schoonhoven’s ‘Twee Grade van Moord’. International gigs? Oh, he’s got those too—roles like Alfonso/Ario in ‘SAF3’, Taj in BBC1’s ‘Our Girl’, and Brother Paul in the sci-fi series ‘Dominion’. Most recently, he’s starring in the action thriller ‘Accident’—yeah, that one everybody’s waiting for.
The dude sings, too. Loads of stage time, picking up new tricks, and just making his mark wherever he can. When he’s not on set, he’s usually knee-deep in stories about everyday people, digging for those nuggets that make us all tick. For Keenan, storytelling isn’t just a job—it’s how we figure ourselves out, together.
