Poonam Sirnaik’s name pops up in some pretty solid flicks if you’re into Hindi cinema. Neerja (2016) – now that was a gut-puncher. Real-life hijacking, Sonam Kapoor nailing it as Neerja Bhanot, and Poonam? She wasn’t just background noise; she played her part with the kind of weight you hardly get in these based-on-true-events dramas. The tension in that film? Yeah, still gives you chills just thinking about it. Then you’ve got Good Newwz (2019) – totally different vibe. Comedy, chaos, a baby swap fiasco that’ll have you rolling your eyes and laughing at the same time. Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, and the rest of the gang bring the star power, but it’s the supporting cast, people like Poonam, that keep the movie from turning into just another over-the-top Bollywood mess. She adds a bit of realness, you know? Like, not everyone in this madcap world is a caricature. Dream Lock (2024) is newer, so not everybody’s seen it yet, but word is, she’s still got it. This one’s more on the thriller side, a little trippy, messing with reality and dreams and all that mind-bendy stuff. Not gonna spoil anything, but she’s not just phoning it in. It’s cool to see someone switch gears from emotional dramas to straight-up psychological craziness. Bottom line, Poonam Sirnaik’s got range, and if you’re skimming through credits, don’t skip her name – she’s in there for a reason.
