Shivani Rawat

Shivani Rawat runs the show over at ShivHans Pictures, a film company that’s all about giving indie filmmakers the space (and cash) to actually make what they want, not just what the big Hollywood studios think will sell. She’s got some seriously heavy hitters on her resume, too. Think about movies like WANDER DARKLY, THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7, TRUMBO (yeah, that one was up for an Oscar), CAPTAIN FANTASTIC (another Oscar nod), DANNY COLLINS, BEIRUT, and THE POLKA KING. She’s not slowing down, either—there’s THE WATER MAN, BADMASH, and THE ICE ROAD coming up, so she’s clearly got her hands full. Back in 2019, ShivHans Pictures started diving into distribution. They teamed up with Bleecker Street to get HOTEL MUMBAI out to U.S. audiences. Then came BRIAN BANKS, which they also produced. Rawat’s not just making movies—she’s shaping the industry. She sits on the board for the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative and is involved with the Producers Guild, Women in Film, and Film Independent. She backs all sorts of organizations, like Time’s Up, the California Innocence Project, the Horizon Award, and the MPTF. Oh, and she helped fund WIF’s #HireHerBack initiative to push for more inclusive hiring after COVID hit. Basically, she’s working nonstop, building a space for bold films and even bolder filmmakers.
