Charla Bocchicchio

Charla Kaye Bocchicchio, born in Belleville, Illinois, grew up as the youngest in a lively family of five. She was one of those kids who lived for make-believe, always chasing the next performance, whether it was in her living room or on a stage. That spark never really faded. She kept the momentum going all the way through her BFA in Theatre at the University of Utah. The woman just never seemed to slow down. Her life pretty much revolved around the arts, bouncing from teaching to acting, and even building arts programs for underserved communities during her years running the show at CDF, a non-profit in Birmingham. Then, in 2012, she packed up and headed to L.A. for a shot at acting on camera, and, honestly, she killed it there. Training with heavyweights like Anthony Meindl really flipped her approach to her craft. And then there’s Judy Kain—mentor, friend, and the one who handed Charla the lead youth teacher gig at Keep It Real Acting School. Not too shabby. Somewhere in the LA chaos, she met her husband John Bocchicchio in an improv class at UCB. (You can’t make this stuff up.) They eventually circled back to Salt Lake City, where Charla’s kept busy as an award-winning actress, nailing everything from commercials to indie films. She’s especially hooked on improv and viral internet ads. On top of all that, she’s become the go-to acting coach in SLC. Honestly, it’s a wild ride, and she’s still going full throttle.
