Not exactly your average move, right? Fast forward, and he’s the director behind RISEN: The Howard Winstone Story, a film that’s got a personal twist since it’s all about his mate Howard Jr.’s dad. RISEN wasn’t some flash-in-the-pan release either—it hung around UK cinemas for about eleven weeks, which is no small feat. The thing’s been shipped out to five continents and clocked over twenty countries, racking up a handful of awards along the way. Best Film at the New Jersey Film Festival, Best Original Vision at Bootleg, and let’s not forget a BAFTA Cymru nod for Best Actor. That’s some heavy metal for the trophy shelf. After RISEN, he didn’t just sit on his hands. He followed up with THE REVEREND, roping in familiar faces like Tamer Hassan, Rutger Hauer, and Doug Bradley. Not too shabby, right? Level 33 rolled it out in North America, and Metrodome took the reins in the UK. Then came a stint as Executive Producer on the multi-award-winning THE SEASONING HOUSE.
