Alex James, born way back in ’68 down in Boscombe, Dorset—yeah, that’s England for anyone who’s not keeping up—has this wild sort of double life thing going. He’s not just the bassist from Blur (which, c’mon, everyone and their nan knows about), but he’s also dipped his toes into acting and composing. Kinda impressive, honestly. His name pops up in the credits for some pretty iconic stuff too. If you caught Baby Driver in 2017, that killer soundtrack had his fingerprint on it. Then, there’s The Beach from 2000—yeah, the one with Leo running around in Thailand looking for paradise and mostly just finding chaos. And Southland Tales (2006), which, let’s be real, was weird as hell but ambitious in a way you can’t help but respect. Outside the lights and noise, Alex has actually been married to Claire Neate since 2003, which is like a hundred years in celebrity time. They’ve got one kid together, keeping things relatively low-key compared to the typical rockstar circus. When he’s not in the studio or popping up on screen, he’s been known to mess around with cheese-making—no, seriously, the guy owns a farm and makes cheese. It’s almost too British.
