Storyline
Jared Price is just nineteen when he ditches Georgia for the wild unknown of Southern California, basically spinning the wheel with nothing but a backpack and whatever cash he’s scraped together. He crashes at a cramped Hollywood hostel, where privacy’s a joke and everybody’s got their own dreams or disasters. There, Jared meets a neighbor who’s definitely interested in more than friendly chats, which is both flattering and a little overwhelming. Chasing stability, Jared lands a gig looking after Mrs. Haines, this older, blind woman who’s got money and a sharp tongue. But things get messy fast when he falls into a complicated thing with her son, Matthew—who’s loaded, older, and not exactly the safest bet emotionally. What starts out thrilling gets ugly, and Jared realizes he’s getting pulled under. So, he’s left staring down that familiar choice again: stick with the comfort he’s found, or risk everything for a shot at something real, even if it means getting his heart bruised all over again.
