Storyline
Mark Klein, burned out after two decades in the DC grind, bails on the city for some deep-woods West Virginia peace and quiet. Honestly, the man just wants to breathe without someone yelling about parking tickets or politics. To keep from going totally feral, he keeps in touch with his OCD support group back in the city, sending video updates—kind of like digital smoke signals from the middle of nowhere. But, yeah, the whole “solitude” thing? Starts feeling a little off. Mark gets the creeping sense he’s not alone out there. The trees, the shadows, the weird noises—something’s lurking, watching, maybe even waiting. At first, it’s easy to write it off as nerves, or just his brain playing tricks, but the vibe gets stranger by the day. The isolation he craved turns into this claustrophobic paranoia, like the woods themselves are closing in. It’s not just about escaping the city anymore. Now, he’s got to figure out what’s really out there in the darkness, before whatever’s watching makes its move.
