Storyline
Lili’s stuck in this haze of grief, drifting through her days like she’s wrapped in bubble wrap, totally detached after losing the person she loved most. Then she stumbles on her mom’s old diary and a pile of love letters, all hidden away in her parents’ apartment. That’s when things get interesting. As she flips through the pages, the past jumps out at her—suddenly it’s the early ’90s, and her mom Eszter is hanging around Lake Balaton with her two best friends. Eszter’s got every intention to stay true to her straight-laced boyfriend back home, but—yeah, right—then she meets Geri, who’s everything her boyfriend isn’t: laid-back, hilarious, and, oh yeah, the frontman of a band playing on the beach. Sparks fly, plans implode, and suddenly it’s a swirl of confusion, jealousy, stolen kisses, maybe a slap or two, and a whole lot more kissing after that. One wild summer shakes up everyone involved, and honestly, it doesn’t just end there—the ripple effects mess with the next generation, too.
