Storyline
Julia Stiles jumps into the director’s chair for the first time and, honestly, nails it. “Wish You Were Here” takes a swing at romance and lands a solid hit—yeah, it’s based on that bestseller everyone’s mom read on a beach somewhere. Isabelle Fuhrman plays Charlotte, who’s basically stuck in one of those “meh” phases of life. One night, she meets this total stranger (Mena Massoud—yep, he’s still got the charm), and sparks just go everywhere. But then, poof, the magic vanishes by morning. Classic, right? Instead of moving on, Charlotte can’t let it go. She dives headfirst into figuring out what the heck happened and why nothing in her life measures up.
