Ravi Mohan
Ravi grew up in a Tamil household, his dad being editor Mohan and his mom Varalakshmi Mohan. The guy’s got siblings too—his older brother, M. Raja, is pretty much a staple in the film industry, especially since he keeps casting Ravi in lead roles. Then there’s his sister, Roja, who decided to steer clear of the film madness and became a dentist instead. Ravi did his schooling at Jawahar Vidyalaya in Ashok Nagar, Chennai—not exactly the stuff of legends, but hey, everybody starts somewhere.
He’s not just a regular actor, by the way. As a kid, he got into bharatanatyam, trained under this well-known dancer Nalini Balakrishnan, and even pulled off his arangetram at just 12. That’s some serious dedication. After school, Ravi took up Visual Communication at Loyola College, Chennai. Apparently, the film bug bit him hard, because right after college, he went straight for a shot in the industry. He didn’t just walk into acting, though—dude actually trained at the Kishore Namit Kapur Institute in Mumbai. Plus, he’s got martial arts skills, so he’s not just about the dancing.
Before all the fame, Ravi worked behind the scenes, learning the ropes as an assistant director to Suresh Krishna on the 2001 film Aalavandhan. So, not only can he act, dance, and throw a punch, but he’s also got a sense of what goes on behind the camera. That’s a pretty solid foundation for a film career if you ask me.
