Jeffrey Meek

Jeff Meek grew up bouncing around Northern California, Germany, and Michigan, thanks to his dad’s Air Force career and his mom’s gigs teaching English and music. He was the youngest of four, so you can imagine the chaos. By the time he hit Arlington High in Riverside, California, he was already knee-deep in school plays and basically played every sport under the sun—football, tennis (champ, by the way), basketball, baseball. Guy didn’t really slow down. College took him to UC Irvine, where he scored a BA in Drama in ‘83. Next thing, he’s in New York, landing the role of Quinn McCleary on “Search for Tomorrow.” Oh, and he fronted a band called Crime, jamming with legends like Jaco Pastorius and John Densmore. Wild, right? Martial arts? Started Aikido around then, too. Not just a pretty face. Meek kept bouncing from TV to movies — starring with Denzel Washington and Bob Hoskins in “Heart Condition,” and sharing scenes with Mickey Rourke and Morgan Freeman in “Johnny Handsome.” He led “The Exile,” shot in Paris, then jumped into “Raven,” a martial arts show filmed in Hawaii. Dude could not sit still. Later, he took dual roles as both Rayden and Shao Kahn in “Mortal Kombat: Conquest,” which he once described as playing both Obi-Wan and Darth Vader at once. After that, he kept popping up in projects—“Code Name: Phoenix,” “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys,” and a bunch of TV guest spots. He even hit the stage as The Stranger in “Celebration of the Lizard,” channeling some Jim Morrison energy. Seriously, the man’s IMDb is all over the map, in the best way.
