Joey Dedio

Dedio’s been everywhere, honestly. Grew up doing After School Specials and popped up on "Another World"—yeah, the soap opera your grandma probably watched. By ’89, he’s off to California, snagging the lead in NBC’s "The Karate Kid" series. Not bad. Oh, and if you ever watched "Captain Planet," that was his voice as Wheeler, going toe-to-toe with a celebrity guest list that’s honestly bananas—Whoopi Goldberg, Tom Cruise, Elizabeth Taylor, Ed Asner, you name it. That show racked up Emmy nods and is still bouncing around in syndication across like, eighty countries. He didn’t just stick to TV. The guy’s jumped into over twenty films—think "LA Rules," "Trick," "Where the Day Takes You," and more. Fun fact: while filming "Strays" with Vin Diesel (of course), Dedio caught the indie film bug and started producing. His first project, "Bomb the System," got an Independent Spirit Award nom, and he kept rolling—writing, producing, and starring in "Downtown: A Street Tale," which kicked off the AFI FEST and pulled in a bunch of awards. He even worked with Melissa Leo on "Lullaby" and produced the award-winning doc "The Providence Effect," which got a screening at the freaking Library of Congress. Back in New York, he cranked out three more features—"Musical Chairs" (GLAAD-nominated), "Tio Papi" (Imagen nom, ran on HBO), and "36 Saints," which launched a bunch of new talent. Now? Dedio’s got a series in the works and three more indie films on deck. Dude never stops.
