Tarun Mansukhani
Tarun Mansukhani. Now there's a name Bollywood fans probably know, even if they haven't exactly seen the guy's face splashed everywhere. He’s the dude behind Dostana, that madcap comedy from 2008 where John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan pretend to be a couple to score an apartment in Miami—oh, and then, of course, both end up falling for Priyanka Chopra. Classic. That movie was a riot, and honestly, people still drop references to it whenever someone wears yellow trunks. Wild times.
But, rewind a bit, and you’ll find Mansukhani quietly working on some seriously big-deal movies before Dostana was even a thing. He was an assistant director on Kal Ho Naa Ho, yeah, that emotional rollercoaster with Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Saif Ali Khan. If you didn't tear up at least once during that film... are you even human? The guy learned from the best—Nikkhil Advani, Karan Johar. Not too shabby, right?
And even further back, he had a hand in Mohabbatein, that full-blown romantic drama with Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan basically dueling it out on screen with violins and wisdom. The dude’s filmography is packed with Bollywood's big hitters, and every movie he's touched has that signature mix of drama, laughs, and enough heart to fill up a dozen popcorn buckets. So, yeah, Tarun Mansukhani might not be in front of the camera, but he’s definitely shaping what you watch.
