Abhishek Singh

Abhishek Singh, the guy everyone now recognizes as ACP Javed Khan from Zee5’s Judgement Day, actually started out in Kolkata with this wild mix of Haryanvi and Bengali roots. His dad’s from Haryana, his mom’s Bengali—so yeah, two opposite ends of the Indian cultural spectrum sitting at his dinner table. He got shipped off to Sherwood College in Nainital when he was seven—boarding school life, you know how that goes. Even as a kid, he was that dude in all the school plays, including this Agatha Christie murder mystery that somehow ended up on a proper Kolkata stage. Not your average childhood. After school, he did the classic Indian parent-pleaser move: law school. But he was also modeling on the side, so clearly the Bollywood bug was already crawling around. He was all set to jump into films in Bombay, had two signed and everything, but then Dubai called with a fat paycheck for a legal job. Acting went straight to the back burner. 2017 rolls around, and he’s back in the game. First up, a Bengali blockbuster called Cockpit, and suddenly he’s everywhere—films, web series, stage plays, you name it. Charitraheen in 2018 blew up, and people couldn’t stop talking about his role as Upen. Next, he’s a hacker in Password, then shooting Judgement Day and Mismatch 3, where he plays a totally whacky director. Oh, and he’s got a Hindi film, Venganza, lined up too. Off set, he shreds on the guitar and trains in MMA. People in the biz say he’s mysterious, super chill, and all about professionalism—basically, the guy you actually want to work with.
