Storyline
Somewhere on the edge of Louisiana, close to Texas, Paris is riding in the car with his mom when, outta nowhere, she has a seizure and their car goes flying off a bridge into Caddo Lake. Paris makes it out, but his mom? Poof—gone, just swallowed up by the water. Not long after, you’ve got this rebellious teen, Ellie, living nearby with her mom Celeste, stepdad Daniel, and little stepsister Anna. Ellie’s always butting heads with her mom, mostly ‘cause she’s obsessed with this mystery around her real dad—like, did he actually die, or is that just what they told her? Then, boom, Anna vanishes at Caddo Lake, too. Sheriff Mark Taylor gets everyone searching, but nothing. Paris dives into weird research, trying to figure out if his mom’s seizures are connected to the lake’s low water—like, what’s up with that? Ellie, not trusting adults to fix anything, starts digging around herself and ends up stumbling onto some strange secrets lurking in those dark waters.
