Acha Septriasa, born Jelita Septriasa in Jakarta, kinda stumbled into the spotlight back in 2005 with a supporting role in Apa Artinya Cinta? Not exactly a blockbuster debut, but hey, everyone’s gotta start somewhere, right? Then in 2006, she absolutely blew up with Heart—one of those teen dramas that everyone in Indonesia seemed to watch, or at least pretend they did. She starred alongside Nirina Zubir and Irwansyah, and, get this, she wasn’t just acting; she sang for the soundtrack too. The album went double platinum (yep, double), with hits like "Sampai Menutup Mata" and the duet "My Heart" getting airplay way beyond Indonesia’s borders. The next year, she kept the momentum going with Love is Cinta. And you know she was making serious bank by then—fourth highest-paid actress in Indonesia, pulling in around 180 million rupiah per film. Not bad at all. She dropped her first solo album in 2009, Keputusan Hati, and started hosting Dahsyat, a variety show that’s pretty much a rite of passage for celebs there. She also dabbled in more film work with Krazy Crazy Krezy. 2010 saw her in Sst... Jadikan Aku Simpanan, acting with Ayu Azhari and Julia Perez, plus she released Menembus Impian. By 2011, she was juggling film school at Limkokwing in Kuala Lumpur and flying back to Indonesia whenever a decent movie offer popped up. In 2012, she filmed TestPack—a gig that scored her a Best Actress win at the Indonesian Film Festival, plus some international buzz for Love Story at the Corinthian International Film Festival in Athens.
