Born July 9 in the heart of Istanbul, this guy basically grew up with art in his veins. After wrapping up his studies at the Istanbul Conservatory – which, let’s be honest, is pretty much the Harvard of acting in Turkey – he dove straight into the deep end with his first gig in “Three Monkeys” (2008). Not just any film either, it was directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan, who’s kind of a big deal, having snagged the Palme D'Or. The movie didn’t just make waves; it straight up stormed Cannes, earning the Best Directing Award and basically putting this actor on the world’s radar. And, yeah, he didn’t just sit pretty—he took home “Most Promising Actor” and “Best Supporting Actor” awards, too. He didn’t stop there. Turkey’s top directors lined up to work with him, and soon enough, he started popping up in international features. Like in 2015, out of nowhere, he’s acting in French in “Le Chant Des Hommes.” Not many can pull that off, honestly. His films have done the whole world tour – Cannes, Berlin, Slamdance, you name it. So, apparently, his absolute dream director is Guy Ritchie. Yeah, that Guy Ritchie—the one with all the stylish crime flicks and rapid-fire dialogue. What’s funny is, back in his university days, he actually sat down and wrote a letter to Ritchie. Like, poured his heart out, probably rambling about how much he loves his films and how cool it’d be to work together someday. Classic college move, right? But—get this—he never sent it. Just left it sitting there, maybe tucked away in a drawer, gathering dust. You can almost imagine him flipping it over in his hands, going back and forth about dropping it in the mail, and then…nah. Makes you wonder what he put in that letter. Maybe he was too nervous or thought it was too much of a long shot. Either way, Guy Ritchie has no idea, but hey, the dream’s still alive.
