Alberto Matesanz Díaz
Alberto Matesanz? Guy’s got chops. He kicked things off with classical guitar, but honestly, sticking to just one lane was never in the cards for him. Before long, he dove headfirst into music production, even taking the whole thing to the next level at the University of Surrey. That’s where he really caught the film music bug—suddenly, he’s teaming up with film students, getting knee-deep in scoring competitions, and snagging third place in that Native Instruments x Metapop showdown. Not too shabby for a newcomer, right?
Word spread, and soon enough, BAFTA-winner Stuart Brennan had his eye on Alberto. Next thing you know, Alberto’s scoring fantasy flicks like "Warchief," "Assassin's Guild," and "Warlord," with folks like Billy Boyd and Jennifer English in the cast. But he’s not just scribbling notes—dude’s also handling sound design and mixing, which is no small feat. He’s even dipped his toes into the thriller world with "The Stoic," working alongside Jason Flemyng, and taken a swing at comedy and musical shorts with "Bye Bye Baby" making the festival rounds.
On top of all that film stuff, he’s teamed up with Cinebur’s CEO, Doddi El Gabry, shaping the company’s sonic branding. Right now, Alberto’s sharpening his skills over at Soundtrack Creation, working with big names like Sefi Carmel (think David Bowie, Bruno Mars). Living in London, juggling film scores, artist mixes, sound design—you name it, he’s probably doing it, and doing it well.
