Alfie Godfrey
Alfie Godfrey’s journey through the world of film music is kinda wild if you look at it up close. The guy started hustling at 14th Street Music in LA, rubbing elbows with legends—yeah, that’s right, Lorne Balfe and Hans Zimmer. Not exactly your average after-school gig. Alfie didn’t just fetch coffee either; he got his hands dirty in almost every music department role you can imagine, bouncing from one project to the next. We’re talking big stuff—Top Gun: Maverick (he probably still hears jet engines in his sleep), Rebuilding Paradise with Ron Howard, Disney’s Dopesick, and even the slapstick chaos of Man vs Bee. The dude’s basically been everywhere.
But it’s not all background work. He stepped up as Score Producer too, putting his stamp on things like Horsepower, Mathew Vaughn’s Silent Night, and the lush, sweeping sounds of Netflix’s Life on Our Planet. The man clearly doesn’t shy away from a challenge. He’s also got this ongoing thing with Nick Love—seriously, the two seem glued at the hip. They’ve teamed up for Sky’s A Town Called Malice and more recently on the Danny Dyer-fronted rom-com Marching Powder. Seems Alfie’s always got something cooking.
And right now? He’s in the thick of composing the score for Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning—yeah, the next big one, coming out May 23rd, 2025. No big deal, just another global blockbuster. Honestly, if you’re watching a movie and the music slaps, there’s a decent chance Alfie had something to do with it.
