Arjun Ashokan
Arjun Ashokan, born August 29, 1993, hails from Kochi, Kerala, and if you’ve watched even a sliver of Malayalam cinema in the last few years, you’ve probably run into his face—often as the guy who’s about to mess things up or save the day, sometimes both. He’s the son of the veteran actor Harisree Ashokan, so acting’s pretty much in his blood, but Arjun’s carved out his own style—there’s an easy charm about him, something that makes his characters stick even if they’re only on screen for five minutes.
His breakout came with films like “Unda” (2019), where he played a rookie cop bumbling along with Mammootty’s squad in the wilds of Chhattisgarh, and the guy just nailed that anxious, fish-out-of-water energy. Then came “Romancham” (2023), a low-key horror-comedy that turned into a sleeper hit thanks to its quirky ensemble (Arjun right there in the thick of it, of course). And “Bramayugam” (2024) turned things up a notch, dipping into the supernatural with Arjun showing off some serious acting chops—definitely not just another horror flick.
Off screen, he keeps it pretty low-key. He’s married to Nikita Ganeshan, and you don’t see him splashing his personal life all over social media, which is honestly refreshing nowadays. But on screen? The guy’s everywhere, and he’s only getting started, with this knack for picking oddball roles and making them work. There’s something about Arjun Ashokan—he makes you watch, even if you didn’t mean to.
