Audrey Cummings

Audrey’s name’s been buzzing a lot lately, and honestly, it makes sense. She just wrapped up directing on Netflix’s monster hit My Life with the Walter Boys, and her latest film, Place of Bones—yeah, the one with Heather Graham, Tom Hopper, Corin Nemec, and Cowboy Cerrone—just dropped in theaters, thanks to Paramount Pictures. Busy woman. Before that? She was behind the camera for episodes of Ginny & Georgia (another Netflix smash) and even took on Astrid & Lilly Save the World, that hilarious sci-fi comedy over on NBC/SYFY. Oh, and she’s dipped into horror too, directing episodes of The Haunted Museum with Eli Roth producing. The woman’s got range. Her film She Never Died—think immortal action thriller—made waves at festivals, snagging a bunch of awards, Best Director and Best Feature Film included. Not her first rodeo, either. Her earlier sci-fi thriller, Darken, landed her six awards (yep, more Best Director trophies), and before that, the horror flick Berkshire County swept up nine awards, including the big one at Shriekfest Los Angeles. She made history there, first woman to win Best Feature Film in two decades. Not bad, right? Don’t even get started on her short films. A Stolen Moment, Les Jeux D’enfants, and Burgeon and Fade all brought in accolades, like the Jackson-Triggs Award for Best Emerging Canadian Filmmaker and the WIFT Kodak New Vision Fellowship. TIFF even handed her the Barry Avrich Award for Emerging Canadian Filmmaker. Basically, if there’s an award for up-and-coming filmmakers, Audrey’s probably got it on her shelf.
