Babbu Mann
Babbu Maan—yeah, the dude born as Tejinder Singh Maan on March 29th—grew up in Khant Maanpur, a small place tucked away in Punjab’s Fatehgarh Sahib District. Even as a kid, he couldn’t keep his hands off anything that made noise. Pots, pans, you name it—if it clanged, it was music to him. There’s this story about him rocking a stage for the first time at just seven during a school event, and honestly, you can kinda picture that little rebel just owning it.
School wasn’t just about books for him. By the time he hit 16 at Panjab University in Chandigarh, he’d already started dabbling in writing lyrics. Not some copy-paste stuff—his own words, straight from whatever was going on in his head. After college, he didn’t just sit around waiting for something to happen. Nope, he jumped right into the deep end—singing, composing, basically living and breathing music.
He’s not your run-of-the-mill singer who just stands in front of a mic and croons. Babbu Maan writes all his own lyrics, which is kinda rare in the industry. Dude’s got this whole “one-man army” vibe going on. His first real break? Recording at Mavi music studio when he was only 23. Not bad, right? From there, he just kept grinding, dropping albums, and making his mark. If you know Punjabi music, you know Babbu Maan—can’t really separate the two.
