Bobby Kolli
Bobby Kolli, or as some fans know him, Bobby a.k.a. KS Ravindra, hit the ground running in Telugu cinema. Born August 1, 1983, smack-dab in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, he’s one of those guys who just oozes film passion—so much so, he basically lives and breathes movies. His directorial style? Loud, stylish, and unapologetically massy. The guy doesn’t really do subtle. Look at his work on “Waltair Veerayya” (2023): a wild, action-packed ride that’s a love letter to classic masala flicks, starring none other than Chiranjeevi. Pure fan service, but hey, fans loved it. Before that, he cooked up “Jai Lava Kusa” (2017) with Jr NTR triple-timing as three brothers (madness, really), and the film just exploded at the box office. Oh, and “Power” (2014)—that’s another notch in his belt, a cop drama with Ravi Teja that basically screamed over-the-top entertainment.
Bobby’s storytelling isn’t about nuance or art-house vibes. He goes big—think punch dialogues, high-voltage drama, and those slow-mo hero entries that get people cheering in theaters. Off-screen, he’s married to Anusha Ravindra, and honestly, the guy’s personal life stays pretty low-key compared to the fireworks he sets off on screen. In a nutshell, Bobby Kolli’s the dude you call if you want your popcorn flick to leave audiences whistling, clapping, and coming back for more. Telugu cinema’s got a soft spot for his flavor of madness, and you can’t really blame them.
