Brett Gelman

Brett Gelman, now that’s a guy you can’t really pin down to just one thing. If you’re into Stranger Things (and honestly, who isn’t these days?), you probably know him as the conspiracy-loving, slightly unhinged Murray Bauman—the dude just owns every scene he’s in. But he’s not just “that guy from Netflix.” Gelman’s got this weird, wild career that sprawls all over TV comedy. Back in the 2000s, he was grinding it out on the comedy circuit, and by the 2010s, he was popping up on Adult Swim doing all kinds of bizarre, hilarious stuff—Eagleheart, a couple of those offbeat specials… if you know, you know. He’s not afraid to get weird, either. He’s done time on NBC’s Go On, Comedy Central’s Another Period (which was just chaos in the best way), and FX’s Married. The man just hops genres like it’s nothing. But let’s be real, what really shot him into everybody’s group chat was Fleabag. Martin, the world’s worst brother-in-law? That’s Gelman, just nailing it with this whole trainwreck energy. And if you think he’s just a face, nope—he’s done a bunch of voice work too. Jeff & Some Aliens, TripTank, and then more grown-up animated stuff like I Heart Arlo and Inside Job. The guy’s everywhere. And apparently, he’s about to show up in Lady in the Lake, some drama series that people are already buzzing about. Basically, if there’s a show that needs someone who can do “awkward” and “unhinged” at the same time, Gelman’s your man.
