Charles Newirth has been deep in the trenches of Hollywood for decades, cranking out some of the biggest hits you’ve probably watched way too many times. Lately, he’s been behind Marvel juggernauts like Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Doctor Strange, and Iron Man Three. Honestly, that’s a serious power move. Before his Marvel days, he was the guy running the physical production show at Revolution Studios, starting back in 2001. The dude basically had a hand in every major flick they pushed out—think America’s Sweethearts, Black Hawk Down, xXx, Anger Management, Daddy Day Care, and, yeah, even Click and Rocky Balboa. Not to mention, he executive produced wild rides like The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep, Across the Universe, Freedomland, and Christmas with the Kranks. Before all that, Newirth produced Galaxy Quest, which somehow keeps getting better with age, and Patch Adams with Robin Williams—classics, both of ‘em. He also co-produced the one and only Forrest Gump (no big deal, just one of the most iconic movies ever), plus City of Angels, Ghosts of Mississippi, The American President, and Phenomenon. His early credits? He was grinding as a location manager on Flashdance, Pretty in Pink, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off—talk about a killer start. Raised in Scarsdale, New York, and an Ohio State grad, Newirth’s Hollywood journey went from location gigs to full-blown producer, picking up a ton of hits (and probably a few wild stories) along the way.
