Charlie Dombek
Charlie Dombek’s name pops up in a trio of films that are, let’s just say, a mixed bag of genres and vibes. First up, there’s Replicas (2018)—that one’s got Keanu Reeves going full mad scientist, trying to bring his family back from the dead. It’s all high-tech cloning, a whole lot of “should we even be doing this?” moral panic, and, honestly, some wild plot twists that’ll make you question who’s actually human by the end.
Then you’ve got The Informer (2019), which swings hard in the other direction. This one’s gritty crime drama all the way: undercover deals, prison setups, and a dude caught between the feds and the mob. If you’re into tense standoffs, double-crosses, and watching someone sweat through every bad decision possible, this is your jam. The stakes just keep piling up, and you’re never sure who’s gonna end up with the upper hand—or if anyone will.
And let’s not forget Escape Plan 2: Hades (2018). Sylvester Stallone’s back, obviously, but this sequel dials up the tech and the labyrinth-style prison nonsense. The plot zips around as Ray Breslin (Stallone) and his crew tackle a high-security, super-futuristic lockup called “HADES.” There’s betrayal, brawls, and a whole lot of gadgets that probably shouldn’t exist, but hey, that’s the fun of it. All three flicks show off Dombek’s knack for picking projects where the stakes are sky-high and nothing ever goes quite according to plan.
