Chris Roach
Chris Roach, hailing from Rochester, New York, has this whole vibe of a guy who just can’t sit still creatively—always got something in the works. He’s carved out a place for himself as both a producer and a writer, and honestly, the guy’s filmography is kind of all over the map in the best way. Take “Drop” for example, slated for 2025. Nobody’s spilling the beans on the full plot yet, but there’s some buzz about it mixing suspense with a bit of edge—very Roach, honestly.
Then there’s “Non-Stop” from 2014, which, let’s face it, was a wild ride. Airplane thriller, Liam Neeson doing his usual “I’m-too-old-for-this-but-somehow-still-badass” routine, and Roach helped steer the story into that relentless, claustrophobic tension that never really lets you breathe. It’s the kind of movie you throw on and then realize you’ve chewed your nails to the quick by the end.
“Truth or Dare” (2018) is a whole other animal. You’ve got this group of college friends, a harmless game turns deadly, and suddenly everyone’s dodging supernatural rules that make no sense—except in that horror-movie way where you just accept it and yell at the screen. Roach’s writing here pulls off this neat trick: it’s campy, sure, but there’s a nasty little undercurrent that sticks with you.
All told, Chris Roach just keeps showing up in places you don’t quite expect—mixing genres, keeping things interesting, and never really sticking to one formula. That’s kind of his thing.
