Christopher Hutson
Grew up out in Iowa, where the corn’s tall and the winters are no joke. He kicked off his comedy run back when mullets were still a thing—late 80s, early 90s, that whole vibe. Stand-up gigs, smoky clubs, the works. Eventually, LA called his name (doesn’t it always?), so he packed up and headed west. Landed a handful of TV guest spots. Not the starring role, but hey, you try breaking into Hollywood—plus, he was all over national commercials. You probably saw his face and didn’t even realize it.
Instead of just sticking to the front of the camera, he started geeking out over editing, teaching himself AVID when everyone else was still fumbling with VHS tapes. He cut his teeth on everything: commercials, short films, even those weird industrial videos nobody admits to watching. Somewhere in there, he got serious about improv, training with some of the best—Second City LA, Acme, and The Empty Stage. Ran with a crew that included Kristen Wiig before she was, well, Kristen Wiig.
Eventually, the behind-the-scenes bug really bit down, and he started producing, directing, and writing. Not content to just let others call the shots, he took the reins himself, pulling from his comedy roots and editing chops. Oh, and he’s a Northern Arizona University alum, so he’s got a little desert grit mixed in with all that Midwest sensibility. Whole career’s got this scrappy, hustle-until-you-make-it energy.
