Dan Clifton

Dan Clifton’s got this wild, zigzag career that kinda reads like a movie script itself. Philly-born, bouncing between the sweaty jazz of New Orleans and the high-strung chaos of New York, he’s not the type to just sit still. This guy’s actually stacked up credits on over forty feature films—yeah, forty—working both stateside and across the globe. He sharpened his chops at NYU’s Tisch (because of course he did), then shot out west to LA in ‘09, all bright-eyed and caffeinated. By 23, he’d already hustled his way into producing his first flick, ATM—a horror-thriller set in a bank, of all places—which actually landed with IFC thanks to Gold Circle Films. Not a bad start, right? Then, from 2012 to 2016, Dan went full grind mode with Peter Safran (that’s the current DC Studios honcho) as Head of Production at The Safran Company. He basically herded cats on a bunch of indie projects, which sounds exhausting but apparently, he’s into that. He’s teamed up with studios like MGM, Sony, and Lionsgate, knocking out everything from superhero horror (Brightburn) to biopics with heart (Dreamin’ Wild), gnarly workplace thrillers (The Belko Experiment), and even a rom-com (Oh, Hi!) that got Sony Pictures Classics’ attention after Sundance 2025. Most recently? He exec produced Last Breath, a gnarly underwater rescue thriller shot in Malta and Scotland for Focus Features. Dude just doesn’t quit.
