Dee Wallace
Dee Wallace? Yeah, she’s that sunny, all-American blonde who can flip from ballet slippers to running from bloodthirsty monsters without missing a beat. She studied at the University of Kansas, so she’s got smarts to go with her scream-queen cred. Folks first started recognizing her in the late ’70s, mostly thanks to a streak of creepy horror and sci-fi flicks. Horror nerds, especially, kinda worship her—she’s like their patron saint of “please don’t kill me yet!” roles. Poor Dee, always getting chased by something nasty: cannibal psychos in The Hills Have Eyes (1977), hairy werewolves in Bhedeye Ki Cheekh (1981)—that one’s wild—then she took a breather from the terror to be the world’s most wholesome mom in E.T. (1982), and then, boom, back to panic mode with a rabid St. Bernard in Cujo (1983). Honestly, she’s been through every nightmare scenario Hollywood could dream up.
She even got to act alongside her husband, Christopher Stone, a few times in the ’80s, which is kinda sweet and tragic, considering he passed away way too soon in ’95. But hey, don’t stick her in the horror box—she’s done way more. While a lot of scream queens faded into the background, Dee just kept on rolling. Over 90 movies now, and counting. Casting directors love her for those warm, suburban mom vibes, or as the friend who’s always got your back. Fans dig her for being so real and relatable, and she’s still landing roles left and right. Oh, and she’s even got her own website where folks keep up with her latest stuff.
